Moodbidri, Nov 19: Chief officer of local municipality, Leena Britto, who had been suspended from service by former Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, V Ponnuraj, for dereliction of duty, rejoined her post recently. Several councillors from the town municipal council and the employees had complained against her style of working, and this issue had been discussed in the municipal meetings too.
She later went on appeal to the High Court and won. In tune with this order, the government had lifted her suspension on November 15. When the government tried to transfer her to Mangalore City Corporation, reportedly, she resisted the move. She has now succeeded in asserting herself and returning to her previous position.
