Udupi, Nov 20: “Kaup block Congress committee will organize a mega convention of its party activists in Kaup town, near here, at 3.00 pm on Sunday November 21”, said Gangadhar Suvarna, president,
Kaup block Congress committee.
Addressing media persons at Rajeev Bhavan, Kaup, near here, on Thursday November 18, he said that the convention aims at organizing party activists for the forthcoming zilla panchayat elections and
to educate them over the corrupt practices of the BJP-led state administration.
Legislative council former speaker B L Shanker will inaugurate the convention here on Thursday afternoon.
Legislative council opposition leader V S Ugrappa will deliver keynote address.
Udupi district Congress committee president Gopal Poojary will preside over the programme.
Former minister Vasant V Salian, Jayaprakash Hegde, former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLC Pratapchandra Shetty, MLAs Gopal Bhandary and U T Khader, and veteran Congressmen will attend the convention.
