Bengaluru, Dec 4: Going overboard on the Covid pandemic control measures, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has directed officials to classify two types of clusters for separation of Covid infected people in schools and hostels as well as in apartment complexes and ensure that only people who have taken both doses of vaccines are allowed entry and also not to allow outsiders.

Further, the Chief Minister has directed that any place which has come with three Covid positive cases such places must be treated as clusters.

Speaking to reporters near his residence, Bommai said the preliminary test report of the genome sequencing of the first cases of omicron virus infection has been received. The State Health Department has been asked to get the complete report and also ascertain the treatment protocols followed internationally.

As of now, the experts have advised that the treatment in the case of infections from the Covid delta variant must be followed. The health department has been directed to follow the scientific treatment protocols.

The Chief Minister pointed out that the omicron virus is not one that was spreading faster and its infection was not severe. However, the efforts to identify, trace the infected persons and their contacts as well as provide them suitable treatment, he said.

The Chief Minister said the staff, parents, nursing as well as para medical staff in schools and colleges and hostel inmates have to mandatorily undergo testing and take both doses of vaccines. All persons with comorbidities must be compulsorily tested.

Bommai made it clear that there is no question of dropping the decision of holding the State Legislature session in Belagavi.

All persons attending the session must have taken both dosses of vaccines, sanitisation and adherence of Covid protocols will be strictly followed. Even seating arrangements will be in accordance with the Covid containment norms, he said.
