Moodbidri: Dr Mohan Alva to Receive Dr P S Shankar Vaidya Sri Award

Moodbidri, Nov 28: Dr Mohan Alva, chairman, Alva's Education Foundation has been selected for the prestigious Dr P S Shankar Vaidya Sri Award given away by the Dr P S Shankar Pratishthan for 2010.

The awards will be presented during the 11th anniversary celebrations of the Pratishthan in Gulbarga on January 1, 2011. The award comprises citation, memento, shawl and Rs 10,000.

Dr Alva who established the Alva's Education Foundation in 1995 at Moodbidiri now through his educational institutes provides quality education to nearly 12,000 students.

Basavanna Swami of the Sri Guru Basava Mahamane in Dharwad will also be conferred the Dr P S Shankar Shreshta Vaidya Sahitya Award for 2009 for his book ‘Arogya Amrutha'.
