Udupi, Nov 29: A five-day national training workshop on cashew production and processing technology was held at Agriculture Science Centre, Brahmavar, recently.

B V T Manipal, managing trustee of K M Udupi in his inaugural speech provided information on the unity and agricultural diversity of the country.

In his presidential address, Zonal Agriculture Research Centre director Dr M Hanumantappa said that cashew fetches foreign currency which can help the farmers to improve the farming condition by use of the latest technology.

Dr B Dhananjay, head of Agriculture Science Centres, Balek and Udupi conveyed best wishes for the programme. Dr Sudhir Kamath welcomed the gathering. Dr M R Anand compered the programme. 

Forty cashew farmers including women attended the workshop.

The workshop was organized in association with Agriculture University, Bangalore, zonal Agriculture Research Centre and Agriculture Science Centre, Brahmavar and Agriculture Science Centre, Balek district, Arunachal. It was sponsored by the directorate of Cashew and Cocoa Development, Cochin.
