Udupi: DGP Hands Over Commendation Letters, Hails District Police Team

Udupi, Dec 8: State director general of police, Ajai Kumar Singh, appreciated the efforts put in by the special police team of the district, which recently succeeded in arresting N Shekhar, a resident of Tamil Nadu, who was instrumental in organizing naxals and motivating them. The arrest was made after a tough operation in Basavanapalu reserve forest area within Yadamoge village limits in the district. He said that the district is a model for the whole state as far as the efficiency of the police department is concerned.

During his visit to the district police office here on Tuesday December 7, he distributed commendation letters to all the officers and other personnel, who took part in the said operation. He also announced a cash reward of one lac rupees for the team. In addition, Singh expressed his deep appreciation for the anti-naxal operations, functioning style, interaction with the people and the working of all other departments of the district police.

Western range inspector general of police, Alok Mohan, district superintendent of police, Pravin Madhukar Pawar, superintendent of Anti Naxal Force, Vasudeva Murty, additional superintendent of police, M V Venkateshappa, deputy superintendent of police, Jayant Shetty, Kundapur assistant superintendent of police, Ram Niwas Sepat, other deputy superintendents of police, along with a number of police officers, were present.
