Udupi, Jan 10: The traditional Paryaya Pravesha in temple town will go on as scheduled albeit with restrictions keeping the Covid threat in mind. “The Swamiji of Krishnapur himself has ordered restrictions in public interest with regards to Purapravesha and Paryaya celebration. There is no opportunity for various cultural activities that were to take place on January 17. All the programmes that used to take place on the late night of January 17 will be completed by 9 PM," said state Kannada and Culture Minister V Sunil Kumar.
Addressing a press conference at the zilla panchayat auditorium in city on Monday, January 10, the minister gave out the details of the Paryaya celebration.“Only limited number of teams will be allowed in the Paryaya procession. Priority will be given to the religious team and very few art teams. Only a limited number of people will be allowed inside Rajangana," Sunil Kumar added.
“All the devotees who will take part in Paryaya must have taken two doses of vaccine. Proper arrangements will be made for the Darshan of Lord Krishna. However, very few people from here and outside the district should take part in the procession and Utsav celebration," he reiterated.
A direct telecast of the programme will be available for the devotees worldover, he disclosed. Another round of discussions will be held in this regard with the Paryaya committee, the minister added.
“Cooperation of the public with the government is vital in controlling Covid. We are taking all the necessary steps in that direction. Entry to beaches should be restricted after 7 pm. The district administration and police department has to look into this", he said.
“Currently schools are closed only in Bengaluru. In the coming days, depending on the severity of the Covid spread, the government has instructed all the district administrations to take a call,” Sunil Kumar said.
