Mangaluru, Jan 13: Cases of coronavirus infection is increasing in the district every day now. In the order of deputy commissioner, it is said that as a precaution various measures are put in place, seven days isolation is mandatory for students arriving from Kerala.

The corona positivity rate in Kerala is 5.6%. Students who are arriving into the district from Kerala should undergo RT-PCR test of 72 hours period and have to undergo mandatory seven days of home isolation. They have to get one more RTPCR test on the eighth day. This rule is applicable to all the medical, engineering and para medical colleges of the district.

The technical advisory committee for corona in the district has advised some measures with regards to control of the pandemic. The order says to strictly implement the recommendations.

Screening and testing will be further increased in all educational institutions, apartments and malls. If anyone is found having symptoms of coronavirus, they have to be isolated.

Testing of international passengers is continuing. Random testing in educational institutions will be stopped as per the guidelines.

Strict monitoring of home isolation cases will be done. Containment zones have to be taken care of. Personnel working in hospitals should mandatorily follow all IPC protocol.

Vaccination of children in the age group of 15 to 18 years needs to be completed as soon as possible. All have to follow the precautionary measures of coronavirus such as face mask, hand sanitization and maintaining social distance.
