Mangaluru, Jan 22: Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra K V issued instructions to booth level officers (BLO) to visit houses within their jurisdictions duly armed with a copy of the voters lists in order to identify those who are not vaccinated so far and get them vaccinated.

This instruction came at a virtual meeting about intensifying vaccination drive in the district which he chaired on Friday January 21. Officials and other staffs participated in the meeting.

"The district has 1,861 booth level officers and there are 186 supervisors to monitor their work. These booth level officers have to conduct door-to-door visits, and if there are people who are aged over 18 and have not become voters, the BLOs have to fill proforma 6 in order to include them in the voters list. If there are people aged above 15, the officers have to obtain their information. In the case of people who are no vaccinated, the officers have to convey this information to concerned medical officers, panchayat development officers, revenue inspectors, and ASHA-Anganwadi workers. If the names of deceased voters are enlisted in the voters list, steps tor removing their names should be taken. If there are ill people, information about their vaccination status should be collected and if they have not been vaccinated, concerned should be contacted to vaccinate them," he said.

The DC asked panchayat raj and rural development and revenue department officers and staff to make sure that vaccines have been administered and check certificates thereto, he told the health officers. He also advised to see that frontline workers who have completed nine months after the second dose get the booster dose.

Zilla panchayat chief executive officer Dr Kumar, assistant commissioner Madan Mohan M, tahsildars, block education officers, taluk health officer, child development project officer, BLOs, supervisors, revenue inspectors etc were present.

Our PM Modiji has told last week that vaccination is not compulsory and not forcing anyone, but why this survey??? When Aadhar is connected to those who have taken vaccination, automatically it will show who has taken and not. I think it ia simply waste of manpower.

This is illegal order which is against the affidavits submitted by our central government clearly state and any officials don't have the right to create any laws or orders violating central government laws under Disaster Management Act which is a criminal offence and contempt of court too. In Maharashtra from CM to chief Secretary and health officials are permitted by governor to be prosecuted for this violations. Better DC stops these unlawful acts soon. Vaccines are not compulsory and nobody can be forced to take them or discriminated against according to the affidavits. Its time for people to take back their medical freedom from servants.
