Bengaluru, Jan 31: Karnataka chief minister (CM) Basavaraj Bommai, advised former chief minister and leader of the opposition in the state assembly, Siddaramaiah, against becoming a compulsive nit-picker. He said that he and his ministers are aware of their responsibilities and that they have implemented many schemes. "Stop searching for mistakes with a magnifying glass in everything we do. We havebeen doing everything for the welfare of the people," he said.
Speaking to the media, Bommai aggressively rubbished Siddaramaiah's allegation that the BJP has failed to implement any of the claims made by the BJP's manifesto released by Yediyurappa in 2018.
On the comment that the MP and MLAs in Mysuru are at loggerheads with each other, Bommai clarified that there is no friction, but just two different viewpoints aimed at development. He said he will summonthe MP and the MLAs to solve the issue.
On the issue of the infighting between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar having become an open fight, Bommai said that this is widely known matter and internal affair of the Congress. He said that the Congress has never worked for the interests of the people. "The Congress did nothing for the people both when in power and otherwise. Other than concentrating on bagging power and utilizing it for selfish interests, that party has achieved nothing," he hit back.
On the issue of appointments to boards and corporations, he said that a decision will be taken after holding discussions internally.
