Daijiworld Media Network – Karkala (SP)

Karkala, Dec 28: “The extent of corruption with which the BJP government in the state is involved, and the land scam with which Chief Minister, Yeddyurappa, and his family members have been identified with, have dealt a severe blow to the self respect of Kannadigas,” felt union minister for law and justice, Dr Veerappa Moily. He was addressing an electioneering meeting organized at Hebri on Monday December 27 for seeking votes for the candidates fielded by Congress in the zilla and taluk panchayat elections.

He sought hearty support of the voters towards efforts to erase the black spot the state has earned because of the BJP’s misrule. Speaking about the measures undertaken by the central government, he said it has been decided to supply rice at three rupees a kilogram to the people, and  that the blue print and estimate for the widening of Agumbe Ghat road between Shimoga and Udupi, are ready.

MLA, Gopal Bhandary, said that he has the moral right to demand votes for his party. He felt Yeddyurappa deserves a Nobel Prize in corruption.

Hebri block Congress president, Nire Krishna Shetty, district Congress vice president, Prasanna Ballal, member, Shekhar Madival, Hebri gram panchayat president, Suresh Shetty, Vidyakumar Bunnal,  zilla panchayat candidate, Manjunath Poojary, taluk panchayat candidates, Navin Adyantaya, Vasanti Naik and several others were at the dais.
