Puttur, Feb 10: Narayana Rai (64), former president of Bunts Sangha, Ahmedabad, Gujarat passed away at his hometown residence, Hosamane, Puttur in the district on Thursday, February 10.

He had retired after serving as an officer at Vijaya bank and was a social worker. He was an active member of Gujarat state unit of Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation trust, Mangaluru. He has left behind his wife, two sons and a large number of friends and relatives.

Among those who condoled his death were Bunts Sangha Ahmedabad president Nithesh S Shetty, honorary chief secretary Kiran Shetty, former president Appu P Shetty, Gujarat Tulu Sangha Baroda president Shashidhar B Shetty, Gujarat Billavara sangha honorary president Dayananda Bontra, former president Mohan C Poojary, president Vishwanath G Poojary Bardoli, Tulu Sangha Ankleshwar president Ravinath Shetty, Gujarat based businessmen Radhakrishna Surat, Ramachandra V Shetty, Balakrishna Shetty Baroda, Ravinath Shetty, Ajith Shetty Ankleshwar, Shanker Shetty Ankleshwar, Surat hotelier Shivarama Shetty Havanje and others.
