Kaup, Mar 18: Jagadeesh (40), a resident of Palimaru Darkas, ended his life by slicing his throat with the help of a sickle at his home on the evening of Thursday March 17. It is said that he was frustrated over his life.
Jagadeesh had become a heavy liquor addict. For the last one week, he had not even gone out to work. On the evening of Thursday, he locked the front door of the house from inside and then brought down a sickle with force on his throat.
Jagadeesh's mother and neighbours forced the door open and entered the house. Jagadeesh told them that he had decided to die and pleaded to let him have his way, before collapsing to the ground. He was immediately taken to Manipal hospital but by the time he reached the hospital, he was no longer alive.
A case of unnatural death was thereafter registered in Padubidri police station in connection with this incident.
