Beltangady, Mar 18: Santhosh Shetty (38) from Hoigediddu in Kashipatna village chose to end his life by consuming some poisonous substance.
Santosh used to work abroad in the past. It is said that for the last four years, he stayed back at home. After finding that there was marital discord between the two which could not be resolved, he had consented to his wife's demand for divorce a month back.
He had gone out of his house on the night of March 15 but did not return even at dusk. The family members began to search for him in all the places. His body was found by the roadside near Kela the next day. A beer bottle was found lying by the side of his body. It is suspected that he would have consumed beer mixed with some poisonous substance.
