Kundapur, Mar 18: The annual fair of Mookambika temple will begin in Kollur from March 18 to 27. It was set in motion on Friday, March 18 after prayers to Ganapathi deity, Nandi Punyaha and Anukaravasa Simha Yaga and flag hoisting led by temple priest and Tantri K Ramachandra Adiga Ave.

Various religious rituals were held as part of the programme in the evening. Managing committee president Keradi Chandrashekar Shetty, executive Govinda Nayak, management committee members Dr Atulkumar Shetty, Jayananda Hobalidar, Ganesh Kini Belve, Gopalakrishna Nada, K P Shekar, Ratna Ramesh Kunder, Sandhya Ramesh, priests Narsi Govinda Adiga, K N Subrahmanya Adiga, Suresh Bhat, Gajanana Jois and others were present.

Most of the programmes will be held at night. Mayoorarorahotsava will be held at night on March 19, Dolarahanotsava on March 20, Pushpamantaparonotsava on March 21, Vrashabharohanotsava on March 22, Gajarahanotsava on March 23, Shikhara Prathiste in the morning on March 24, Hirerangapooje and Simharohanotsava in the evening and night on March 24, Muhurtha Bali, Kshipra Bali, Ratha Bali, Ratharohana and Manmarahathotsava will be held on March 25, Okuli and Avabhrathasnana etc., will be held on March 26, Ashwarohanotsava, Mahapoornahuthi, flag hoisting, Poorna Kumbhabhisheka and Ankura Prasada distribution will be held on March 27.

Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty visited the temple in the morning on March 18, the first day of the festival, prayed to the deity and offered pooja.
