Mangaluru: Two-day drama festival, 'Ranga Bhaskara' on March 22-23

Mangaluru, Mar 19: As part of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the district unit of Karnataka Nataka Academy, a two-day drama festival and 'Ranga Bhaskara 2022' awards ceremony in association with Sangati Samskriti Prathishtana is being organized on March 22 and 23 at Canara PU college in the city at 6 pm.

The 'Ranga Bhaskara' award is being given in memory of the late Bhaskar Nelliteertha, a multi-dimensional talent and founder of 'Ranga Sangati'. Actor and dramatist, K Radhakrishna, has been chosen for the award this year, said M K Matha Uppinangady, Karnataka Nataka Academy Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district member convener, addressing a press conference here on Friday March 18.

He informed that Harinarayana Asranna of Kateel temple will deliver the benedictory address while city police commissioner, N Shashi Kumar, will inaugurate the programme. Later, a play, 'Court Martial' being presented by Suvarna Foundation Mangaluru will be performed.

The awards function will be held at 6 pm on March 23. Retired Karnataka Bank officer and patron of the art, P Manohar, will inaugurate it. Kannada play, 'That's All Your Honour' will be staged by Ranga Sangati Samskritika Pratishtana on that day, he said.

'Ranga Sangati' president, Gopalakrishna Shetty and member of the board of trustees, Mime Ramdas, were present.
