Udupi, Feb 2: Assistant commissioner, Sadashiva Prabhu, who happens to be the returning officer for the election to the posts of the presidents of the three taluk panchayats (TP) in the district, has fixed dates for these elections.
These elections will be conducted after the election for the post of the zilla panchayat president in the district is held on February 9. Udupi TP will elect its president on February 10, followed by Kundapur TP on February 11 and Karkala, on February 14.
In the case of all these taluks, nominations can be filed from 11 am to 1 pm on the days of the elections, and a meeting of the TP members will be conducted at 3 pm for electing their presidents.
