Bantwal, Apr 16: The stay of Bantwal tahsildar S R Laxmi as part of government’s gram stay programme was inuagurated at Kakyapadav Suvarna Bhavan, Uli gram panchayat on Saturday April 16.

The tahsildar inaugurating the programme said that the ‘Grama Vastavya’ (village stay) is being held on the third Saturday of every month in order to respond to the grievances of the residents of villages. “As all the taluk level officers are reaching to the villages, it is possible to listen to the public grievances and provide solutions to them on the spot if possible. It avoids frequent visits of the people to the departments,” she said.

“Public roads on government land should be reserved in the name of gram panchayat,” she said.

Uli gram panchayat president Suresh Maira, vice president Chidananda Rai, land justice board member Ranjith Maira, block education officer Jnanesh, central local Shirasthedar Narendranath Mithur, panchayat development officer Dhananjay, first grade assistant Gretta Mascarenhas, revenue inspector Santhosh, village accountant Nishmitha and gram panchayat members were present.

Assistant tahsildar Navin Benjanapadav welcomed and rendered a vote of thanks. The grievances of villagers were received and solutions were provided to them on the spot.
