Puttur: First Ever Court E-Library in State Begins Functioning

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Feb 9: An e-library, claimed to be first of its kind in the state, has started functioning in the local court complex. Bar Council president, Mahesh Kaje, said that this hi-tech library could be established because of the interest evinced by Puttur Bar Council, and the help extended by several organizations.

This e-library will come in handy for those who are interested in the subject of delivery of justice and law. For the advocates in particular, a treasure of information will be available at their finger tips. Hundreds of law journals published since 1955 have been stored in this library through discs. A number of laws and notifications issued by the central and state governments are available in this library. This library also enables the interested persons to have access to cases handled by the Supreme Court and the High Court through the internet.

The library, which has been independently established, has not got any sponsorship from the state government. Kaje explained that Karnataka Bank Ltd has set up a cool drinking water point in the complex, while a donor has provided microphone set.

Well done Mahesh Kaje. Hats off to your efforts. Well its been many years since we have been in contact. The last being in the year 1990-1991. Over the period of time I completed my law and practiced for some time. Now that I live and work in the country of Kuwait, I still keep in touch with my profession and do offer legal asisstance to Indians and expats as well. I do keep d via the website for landmark cases as well as any ammendments. I feel it would be of great help if I was able to access the E-Library put together by Mahesh and the Puttur court. I would appreciate if Mahesh kaje reads my comment and makes available his email, I would be able to connect with him. My email is vinvu3feo@gmail.com.

All the best again and good luck!
