Mangalore: Veteran Congress Leader, Toddala Mahabala Shetty, No More

Mangalore, Feb 11: Toddala Mahabala Shetty (75), former Pradhan of Permannur Mandal Panchayat and senior Congress leader, breathed his last in a hospital in Deralakatte near here after a brief illness, on Wednesday February 9. He is survived by three daughters and a son.

Shetty, an agriculturist, had also worked as a member of the Land Tribunal, founder president of Ullal Zone Buntara Sangha, and as the president of Kallapu Patla School Betterment Committee. He was also active in various social service organizations.

Former union ministers, B Janardan Poojary and Oscar Fernandes, MLAs, Abhayachandra Jain and U T Khader, former MLA, Jayaram Shetty, president of Global Union of Bunts Associations, Ajit Kumar Rai Malady, Ullal Buntara Sangha president, Chandrahas Adyantaya, and many others have grieved his death.
