Moodbidri, Feb 11: A person, who had been admitted into a hospital here after suffering injuries in an assault a week back, breathed his last on Thursday February 10. He has been identified as Leo Serrao (60) from Niddodi in Kallamundkoor village.
Reportedly, there was a verbal duel between Leo and his neighbour, Urban Serrao, relating to a cow. The quarrel culminated with an assault on Leo by Urban Serrao, with the help of a cane. After suffering head injuries in the assault, Leo got admitted into a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
A case has been filed in the local police station in this connection.
