Delhi Metro Spreads Safety Message Through Games, Bookmarks


New Delhi, March 24 (IANS) The Delhi Metro will sell indoor games and bookmarks carrying safety tips to educate young commuters, an official said Thursday.

"The youngsters' all-time favourite indoor games like Snakes and Ladders and Ludo are now available at Metro Museum at Patel Chowk. The purpose of introducing such games and bookmarks is to educate young commuters about the Metro safety system," said Delhi Metro spokesperson Anuj Dayal.

According to Delhi Metro, on the reverse of the Snakes and Ladders board are printed the route map of the network and dos and don'ts to be followed while travelling in Metro.

The Ludo game board carries on its reverse a list of general instructions for Metro travel, especially designed for young commuters. It is in simple language and with special emphasis on inculcating etiquettes and good manners.

Each game board costing Rs.10 will come with a dice box carrying 16 coins and a dice. A set of bookmarks will also cost Rs.10.

A set of four bookmarks has also been launched which messages related to smart cards, dos and don'ts at Metro stations and information of Metro lines.

"One set will have four different bookmarks on topics related to Delhi Metro," Dayal added.

These items will be available for sale from Friday at the souvenir shop of Metro Museum, Patel Chowk station, on the Jahangirpuri-HUDA City Centre line.
