Udupi: Fire mishap at coconut oil mill, aquarium showroom – Lac worth property burnt

Udupi, Aug 11: Fire mishap occurred at Ganigara Mill situated near Kannangar Bypass and a shop selling aquarium, fish and birds near Padubidri police station on the morning of Wednesday, August 10. Electrical short circuit is said to be cause of the fire. Goods worth lac of rupees went up in flames.

In the fire that erupted at Ganigara Mill, coconut and dry coconut worth Rs five lac got reduced to ashes. In the aquarium showroom owned by Dinesh Padubidri, fishes, love birds and other pet related goods worth Rs four lac got burnt.

Udupi fire service personnel brought the fire under control with the help of public at both the places. Padubidri gram panchayat president Ravi Shetty Padebettu and village accountant visited both spots and inspected. Village accountant has given a report to the revenue inspector on both the mishaps.
