Mangaluru, Aug 18: Kankanady police station personnel arrested a truck driver, who was illegally transporting sand.
Police inspector S H Bajantri was patrolling the area on Wednesday, when he got a tip off that a truck carrying sand is moving from Kannur to Padil. When the truck was waylaid at Padil over bridge, it came to light that the owner and driver of the truck Afaullah, was transporting the sand without any documents.
Police seized the tipper truck and sand value of which is estimated at Rs 4.07 lac.
