Rs 28 cr Annadinni Lift Irrigation Scheme gets State Cabinet nod

Bengaluru, Aug 25: A long delayed Lift Irrigation scheme at Annadinni in Bilagi taluk of Bagalkiot district at a cost of Rs 28 crore has been approved by the State Cabinet at its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in Bengaluru on Thursday.

Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh R Nirani, who represents the Bilagi assembly constituency, has thanked the Chief Minister and the Minor Irrigation as well as Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister J C Madhuswamy for their support.

The Annadinni lift irrigation coming under the Ghataprabha project will provide irrigation facilities to 840 hectares as well as ensure supply of drinking water to several villages, Nirani said.

2A quota for Lingayats:

The State Veerashaiva-Lingayat Panchamasali Sangha office-bearers called on Minister Nirani at his residence in Bengaluru on Thursday morning on the demand for granting 2A reservation benefit to the community.

Nirani promised to pursue the issue with the State and Union Governments and try his best to solve the legal hurdles. Sangha President G P Patil, Secretary B Lokesh and others were present’
