Kasargod: CPI (M) leader Aboobacker passes away

Kasargod, Sep 3: Senior social leader, who was instrumental in founding and developing CPI (M) in Tulunadu, A Aboobacker (87) died at his residence. He was the member of central committee.

Aboobacker was the contemporary of EMS, AKG, Pacheni Kunjiraman, Imbacchi Bava, M V Raghavan, M Ramanna Rai, M V Govindan Master and P Karunakaran. He led the elections campaign in Tulunadu of AKG, Ramanna Rai, T Govindan, Dr A Subba Rao and C H Kunhambu.

Aboobacker worked for a long time as local secretary of the party, secretary of area committee of Kumble and Manjeshwar and district committee. He was member of the Kannur district committee of Raita Sangha, Paivalike gram panchayat, administrative committee of cooperative hospital of Kasargod district, director of multipurpose cooperative bank and state level Agro Missionaries Industries Company.

Aboobacker played pivotal rule in upgrading Paivalike city school to high school and higher secondary level. He was president of Paivalike city school teacher parents association and founder vice president of Paiyaki Ustad Academy.

Aboobacker used to respond to the issues of commoners whenever someone sought his help. He was fondly called as Ambakka by general public. He studied only till primary. His oratory skills in Malayalam, Tulu and Kannada languages were exemplary. His Tulu speeches attracted huge audience. He was felicitated by several cultural and social organizations of Tulunadu.

CPI M Kasargod district committee and Manjeshwar area committee expressed sorrow on the demise of Aboobacker.
