Udupi: Man cheated of Rs 3 lac, files complaint

Udupi, Sep 8: A person was cheated of his valuable money running into Rs 3 lac on the pretext of taking help in getting medical treatment.

Pramod Kumar Shetty, a resident of Heggunje of Mandarthi received a call from Rajesh Shah saying that the latter's son had met with an accident on the Karwar-Goa highway and that Shah was the owner of Euro Bond company. He sought Pramod Shetty's help in airlifting his son to admit him into a private hospital in Mangaluru for which he needed a sum of Rs 3 lac.

Believing this to be true, Pramod collected money from his friends and transferred the money through Google Pay and later came to know that he had been cheated. Pramod has registered a complaint with CEN police.
