Mangaluru, Sep 9: Additional district and sessions (Fast track-2) court of the city awarded 15 years rigorous imprisonment and Rs 25,000 fine for accused father who sexually harassed his minor daughter.
A case was registered under POCSO in Bantwal rural police station on a man of sexually harassing his minor daughter at a lodge at Melkar and Ira in January 2018.
The then CI Sharanagowda and T D Nagaraj had arrested the accused and filed charge sheet in court. Justice K M Radhakrishna who conducted the inquiry of the case, in his verdict said that the accusation against the father is proved and sentenced him to 15 years RI and slapped fine of Rs 25000. Public prosecutor Venkataramana Swamy argued for the prosecution.
