Mangaluru: MCC Bank, Bajpe branch holds customer meet

Mangaluru, Sep 11: On the occasion of the post centenary decennial celebration of the bank, customer meet of MCC Bank, Bajpe branch, was organized at the St Joseph church hall on Sunday September 11.

The programme started with the prayer by Sonali and team.

The customer meet was presided over by Anil Lobo, chairman of the bank. The meet was formally inaugurated by Dr Ronald Cutinha, parish priest of St Joseph Church, Bajpe. Nirmala Chandrashekar, former-president, Malavoor Grama Panchayath and Thelma R Fernandes, entrepreneur, were the guests of honour.

 

Dr Ronald Cutinha, in his inaugural speech congratulated the management for their hard work and vision and the bank for completing 110 years of dedicated service to the society. He said change is always challenging and we should be prepared to face the challenges. He compared the relationship between management, staff and the customers to the wheels of the three wheeler and if one wheel gets affected, then the vehicle will not move and hence there is a greater need for proper coordination between them. He said all of us should save for ourselves, our children and the public. He said that customers expect speedy, accurate and customer friendly service from the staff.

Nirmala Chandrashekar in her speech appreciated service oriented approach by the present and previous staff and the friendly atmosphere prevailing at the branch. She wished all the best for the future endeavours of the bank.

Thelma R Fernandes in her speech congratulated the bank for having completed 110 years bank and serving his customers in spite of difficulties and wished good luck in the coming days.

On this occasion the customers who have their birthdays in the month of September were honoured. The senior citizen customers were congratulated and honoured with shawl and flower bouquets.

Sherly Misquit was honoured for completing chartered account exam in her first attempt. Helen Rita Dsilva, entrepreneur was also honoured on the occasion. Sonali Noronha, Jhancy Fernandes and Melona Saldanha were honoured for their achievement in the field of singing.

As a part of customer meet, an open session was held to facilitate customers to come out with their suggestions, feedback and also express their grievances. Customers actively took part in this interactive session and offered their valuable suggestions.

Chairman, Anil Lobo, in his presidential speech, said that the main intention of the customer meet was to know the problems of the customers and address their issues. He said the Bank is having knowledgeable customers and the bank is striving to fulfil their expectations.

He explained the bank had earned a net profit of Rs. 8.27 crores with a net NPA of 1.60%. He said that the staff are given proper training in the premises of the bank to offer better service to the customers. He also requested the customers to support the bank by opening the accounts of their family members and friends. He thanked the senior citizens for their unstinted support to the bank. He told the gathering that the bank deposits are covered by DICGC guarantee. He congratulated the branch manager and staff members for taking initiative and organising this customer meet and making it a great success. Further he said, our bank levies very low service charges compared to nationalised banks.

Bulletin containing activities and developments of the bank was distributed to customers during the meet.

Vice chairman, Jerald Jude Dsilva, Anil Patrao, Marcel M. Dsouza, Irene Rebello, professional directors Sushanth Saldanha, member of Board of management, Alwyn P Monteiro, Sharmila Menezes and Felix D’cruz were also present.

General manager Sunil Menezes explained the importance of the customer meet. Branch support director David Dsouza welcomed the gathering. Bajpe branch manager Clifford Dcosta proposed vote of thanks. Viola Ferel Pinto, compered the programme.

Employees of MCC bank Bajpe branch, Violet Crasta, Robert Fernandes, Lolita Mendonca and Preevan Jerald Dsilva were actively associated in holding the meet.

More than 300 customers of the branch actively participated in the customer Meet.
