Kundapur: Retired soldier felicitated by villagers of Basrur

Kundapur, Sep 12: “It is really scary that today’s youth are addicted to mobile phones. They should stop playing Pubjee on mobile. Join army and play PUBG in reality,” said former soldier Sathyanarayana.

Namma Yodha Namma Hemme team and villagers of Basrur felicitated Sathyanarayana who returned to his native place after serving 20 years in CRPF.

Sathyanarayana was taken in procession on an open jeep from Shastri Circle to Veer Savarkar dais that was set at Basrur on Sunday, September 11.

B Appanna Hegde, trustee of Basrur Sri Mahalingeshwara temple, felicitated Sathyanarayana. Srikanth Shetty presented keynote address. Gram panchayat president Indira Basavaraj, former solder Mahabala N Basrur, police station officer Pavan Nayak, former president of Basrur agricultural cooperative society Gopal Poojary, gram panchayat PDO Nagendra J and Ganapaty Kharvi were present.

Ashok Kerekatte did the introductory speech.
