Kundapur, Sep 12: Koraga PVTG tribal community members staged protests in front of the office of Kundapur tahsildar urging withdrawal of orders cancelling reimbursement of their medical expenses.

Karnataka Adivasi rights coordination committee’s Udupi organizing committee submitted a memorandum to the chief minister through the tahsildar in this connection.

Organisation convener Sridhar Nada said the government is leading the community towards disaster. “The statement by the government that the community members fall sick because of vices like drinking is unscientific. The government has not conducted a detailed study of the Koraga community. There are no documents to show that the members fall sick because of the vices. There is self-awareness among the Koragas about the vices,” he said.

Ganesh Aloor, Malati Aloor, Gopala Taggarse, Babu Nada and Nagaraja Nandrolli were present.
