Mangalore, Feb 10: Chairman of the state Human Rights Commission S R Nayak visited the city on Monday February 9. He visited Amnesia Pub which faced attack from Sri Ram Sena activists and also the spot in Gurpur where a person with alleged underworld links, was gunned down by the policemen in an encounter recently.

He will also be holding an inquiry into the incident in which the daughter of a Kerala MLA was abducted and her friend was assaulted in the city. He collected information from the pub management, staff and some eyewitnesses at the office of the deputy commissioner here and received petitions. He was also briefed by the district deputy commissioner Ponnuraj on the incidents.

The commission will be in the city on Tuesday February 10 too. At 10.30 am today, it will interact with the inspector general of police, superintendent of police and other officials.
