Udupi, May 23: A programme titled ‘Sambrama-09’ will be held at Bhavani auditorium of Ambalapady Temple, Udupi on Sunday May 24 to felicitate veteran painter Ramesh Rao.
The programme is being conducted as part of the 60th birthday celebrations of veteran painter Ramesh Rao. Students, well-wishers and fans of Rao in association with Artists’ Forum, will be holding the said programme.
Dr N Vijaya Ballal, Ambalapady Sri Janardhan Mahakali Temple trustee, will honour Ramesh Rao on the occasion, said Saku Pangala, Artists’ Forum secretary and Purushottam Adve, vice-president, speaking at a press conference held here on Thursday May 21.
Artists like K N Ramachandran, K G Lingadevaru, V J John, Cochin artist, Koti Prasad Alva of Prasad Gallery and Dr Kiran Acharya, Manipal KMC will participate as chief guests on the occasion.
Veteran art critic A Eshwaraiah will preside over the function. Dr Kiran Acharya will present a slide show on the topic, 'Images of the World,' at 5 pm.
The students of Artists' Forum will also hold an art exhibition on the occasion.
Ramesh Rao, who has not been trained in any art school, has succeeded in establishing an art school 'Drishya' and the art gallery 'Dristi', said veteran artist Saku Pangala.
