Mangaluru: Murderous attack on man at Kandavar - Victim hospitalised

Mangaluru, Nov 16: On the night of Sunday November 15, an entrepreneur was attacked with swords at Kandavara. Kandavara falls within the limits of Bajpe police station.

The man who was attacked, happened to be Abdul Aziz (58) from Kandavar Kaikamba.

At around 10.30 pm on Sunday, Abdul Aziz was walking towards his car from the mosque after offering namaz, when two young men suddenly attacked him with swords. They fled after inflicting injuries to his head, hand, and leg. Aziz was left with serious injuries.

The entire scene of the attack was captured by the CCTV camera of the mosque. 

It is suspected that this attack was backed by personal enmity. Injured Aziz stands admitted into a private hospital in the city. Aziz operates Welnz Textiles venture here. He was an active member of Kandavara mosque managing committee.

Bajpe police, who have registered a case, are investigating.

Sunni Yuvajana Sangam (SYS) organization condemned the attack on Abdul Azeez and also demanded immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the crime. The organization also said that there should not be any bias in arresting the culprit. If police fail to arrest the culprits, the organization warned of holding a protest.

    If it’s a personal rivalry, then it’s fine. If not, then what we should understand is, ELECTIONS ARE NEAR, preparations have started. And we like idiots will start fighting. What we should realise is this people has vested interest, they are going to gain only by keeping us separated. We have much more important things to deal with, let’s not fall for this.     No.It is not fine even if it’s personal rivalry.We have system in place. You can’t take law into your hands.Let the departments do their jobs.
