Bengaluru, Apr 1: Skoda Auto India has achieved its highest-ever monthly sales figure, recording 7,422 units sold in March 2025. This milestone coincides with the company’s 25th anniversary in India and reflects the strong market reception of its latest launch, the Kylaq SUV.
The newly introduced Kylaq, along with popular models like the Slavia and Kushaq, contributed significantly to this record-breaking performance. The company has extended the introductory pricing of the Kylaq until April-end to maintain the sales momentum.

Petr Janeba, Brand Director of Škoda Auto India, stated, “With the launch of the all-new Kylaq, we committed to a 'New Era' in our India journey. The 7,422 cars we sold in March 2025 is a testament to this journey taking shape.” The Kylaq, unveiled in November 2024 and launched for deliveries in January 2025, has already garnered over 15,000 bookings.
Škoda aims to fulfill all bookings by May 2025, implementing its “fastest ramp-up in production” strategy. Manufactured at the Chakan plant in Pune, the Kylaq is produced on the MQB-A0-IN platform, ensuring high localization of up to 98% for competitive pricing and easier maintenance.
The compact SUV market holds a nearly 30% share of India’s passenger vehicle segment. The Kylaq’s sub-4-meter size, starting price of Rs 7.89 lac (ex-showroom), and feature-rich package are designed to appeal to aspirational buyers and young families. Equipped with a 1.0 TSI petrol engine producing 115hp, the Kylaq is available in manual and automatic variants.
The model also emphasizes safety, with over 25 active and passive features, including six airbags as standard. Built to achieve a 5-star rating under the Bharat NCAP program, the Kylaq follows the success of the Kushaq and Slavia, which earned top ratings in Global NCAP tests.
Škoda has rapidly expanded its dealership network from 120 to over 280 touchpoints since 2021, with plans to reach 350 by the end of 2025. Digital initiatives, including online sales and fully digitalized showrooms, are part of Škoda’s efforts to enhance customer experience.
The Kylaq’s launch campaign, featuring director Rohit Shetty, has further boosted the brand’s visibility. With an ambitious sales target of 75,000 to 100,000 units annually, Škoda aims to solidify its presence in India’s competitive automotive market.
Globally, Skoda Auto delivered over 926,600 vehicles in 2024 and continues its quest to become one of the top five best-selling brands in Europe by 2030.
