Beltangady: Minister Eshwarappa warns cattle thieves of getting their limbs severed

Beltangady, Feb 1: State minister for rural development, K S Eshwarappa, delivered an inflammatory address at a meeting organized at Ujire on Sunday January 31 to congratulate BJP candidates from Beltangady Mandal, who came out victorious in the recent local body election held recently.

Speaking at the meeting, he challenged those who steal the cows to continue with their thefts. "We will take them on. A day will come in which we will cut off their hands if they slaughter the cows. If the cow thieves come to your villages, you should sever their limbs duly following legal provisions. The tongues of those who feed on the food of India and raise slogans hailing Pakistan should be sliced off," he stated.

He said that the Muslims and Christians who have won the election as BJP candidates never hesitate to hail Bharat Mata. "They are patriots," he declared. Eshwarappa recalled that once upon a time, BJP was branded as a party with an urban base, but it has now turned into a party in which rural people have faith. He advised the newly elected gram panchayat members to participate in different training programmes being organized for them by the government, enrich their knowledge, and work in their wards honestly and sincerely.

Beltangady MLA Harish Poonja, said that the BJP activists never get into friction with others. But, he acknowledged, that these activists are ever ready to take on anyone for the sake of Hinduism, those who are involved with Love Jihad, and people who engage in slaughter of cows illegally.

Poonja said that of development works have been undertaken in the rural areas of Beltangady constituency, and requested the ministers to release more grants to take up works that are pending.

Ministers Kota Srinivas Poojary and S Angara, MLC Pratap Simha Nayak, party leaders Sudarshan, Meenakshi Shanthigodu, Harikrishna Bantwal, Sudhir Shetty, Ramdas Bhat, Kasturi Panja, Koragappa Naik, Shashidhar Kalmanja, Jayananda Gowda and others were present.

Mandal BJP president Jayanth Kotian welcomed the gathering. Thousands of BJP supporters participated in the meeting.
