M'lore: St Lawrence Church Karady, Vijayadka Commemorates Centenary Celebration

St Lawrence Church Karady, Vijayadka commemorated  its centenary celebration here, recently.


The three day long celebration commenced with the Eucharistic celebration on Sunday, December 26 and ended on Wednesday, December 29. Variety entertainment programme was also conducted. Badhkdh Vorinda, a Tulu drama directed by Devadas Kapikad was also staged on the occasion.
 
Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, bishop of Mangalore presided over the thanksgiving mass on December 29 and felicitated the chief guests Fr Andrew D’Souza and Sr Doreen D’Souza, provincial general of UFS.
 
Fr Andrew D’Souza, Vicar Vara, Mangalore South Varado, Thirumaleshwara, Mokthesararu, Shree Malaraya and Shree Subraya temple Karopady and Janab Abdul Hameed spoke on December 26 and highlighted the importance of faith.
 
Sr Lenita D’Souza, provincial superior of UFS, Mangalore, MLA Ramanatha Rai, Bantwal, Haji Usman Karopady, member Bantwal Taluk Panchayath, K P Abdul Rahiman, president, Kanyana Grama Panchayath, and Subhashchandra Shetty, president, Kolnadu Grama Panchayath were the chief guests. Fr Andrew D’Souza presided over the programme.
