Marrakesh, Apr 28 (IANS): An explosion ripped through a cafe Thursday in the southern Moroccan city of Marrakesh, killing at least 14 people and injuring over 20, media reports said.
According to the Moroccan interior ministry, the blast inside the cafe on the bustling Jamaa Lafna Square - the city's main meeting spot - was a terrorist act, RIA Novosti reported.
Eleven of the casualties were foreigners, mostly European, the official MAP news agency said.
Earlier, it was reported that the blast may have been caused when gas canisters caught fire inside the cafe.
