Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE school celebrates Children's Day

Mangaluru, Nov 21: A spectacular day which will be itched in the memory of St Agnes CBSE school children as they celebrated the children’s day on November 14. The children from grade I to X decked up in their best attire created an ambiance of fun and also brought back the memories for the teachers of their school days. The celebration had already begun on 12th by students offering the thanksgiving mass arranged on this honour.

A well-planned day which began with a meaningful prayer service by the teacher’s giving importance to the humbleness of the children with generous heart, light to the world, and sweet as flowers, followed by teachers presenting a mesmerising welcome through a dance. The significance of the day was creatively presented by teacher Shalet who was dressed as Chacha Nehru and entertained the students. A fusion dance by group of teachers brought back the child within oneself and mesmerised the crowd with their gracious moves. Teachers melodiously sang the wishing song reminding the children how greatly blessed they are. A skit presented by teachers to show the student and teachers life in school was well enacted by the teachers bringing in some humour to entertain the students. A well-co-ordinated performance by all teachers giving their very best.

Vinatha the professor of Psychology dept of St Agnes college and also a member of SWC of the school entertained the students with spot games. The important message of the day was delivered by the school principal Sr Maria Gracilda AC of thanking every student for their wonderful participation and giving importance to life teachers and parents. She shared her thoughts on children are the best gifts of God.

The lions Club Mangaluru had organised a Peace Poster Contest with the theme ‘Lead with Compassion’ and a good number of students had participated out of which three students had brough laurels to school. The winners are: Snehal S G of grade VIIC first place, Sonal Ria Figueira VIIIB second place and Sai Prarthana of VIIC bagged the third place.

The day continued with teachers conducting various recreational games in the class and playground followed by some best captured moments in class. To mark the significance of the occasion a fellowship meal was served to all.

The programme was compered by teachers Chetana and Sushmita. Teacher Shanthi welcomed the gathering; vote of thanks was proposed by Anya the head girl of the school. The entire programme was coordinated and planned by teachers Reshma and Chandrika.
