Udupi, Feb 13: The Central Library of SMVITM, in association with the IEEE Student Branch SMVITM, organized an informative session titled ‘EBSCO & IEEE Xplore: VTU Consortium Resources Awareness Programme’ on February 11 at the institute.
The session was conducted by M S Srinivasa, training manager – EBSCO & IEEE Xplore, who delivered an insightful presentation on the effective utilization of digital academic resources available through the VTU Consortium. The programme aimed to enhance awareness among students and faculty members regarding accessing scholarly journals, research databases, e-books, conference proceedings, and other e-learning materials essential for academic and research excellence.

Shrinivasa elaborated on advanced search techniques, research database navigation, citation tools, and best practices for literature review using EBSCO and IEEE Xplore platforms. Participants were guided on how to retrieve high-quality research papers and utilize institutional access efficiently for projects, publications, and higher studies preparation.
The event was graced by the presence of the principal, deans, heads of departments, and faculty members of SMVITM, whose encouragement emphasized the importance of digital literacy and research-oriented learning.
