Mangaluru: Srinivas University to conduct ‘Vishwa Sanskrit Sammelanam’ from Feb 24 to 26

Mangaluru, Feb 22: Srinivas University, in association with central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, National Mission for the Manuscript of the Government of India, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Ministry of Ayush, is conducting a world conference on the contribution of Indian Knowledge and Sanskrit to Humanity, ‘Vishwa Sanskrit Sammelanam’ from February 24 to 26 at its campus in Mukka, Surathkal here.

Addressing the media here on Wednesday, February 22, pro chancellor, of Srinivas University, Dr A Srinivas Rao said, “Chancellor Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao has a dream to promote Indic Culture, and his strong belief is to transform society through education. In this direction, he wants to spread the knowledge of Sanskrit through this conference all over the world.”

"Srinivas University provides a unique opportunity to come and explore the contribution of Indian knowledge and Sanskrit and understand the snippets of the fascinating world of ancient Indian Wisdom which has been benefiting humanity since time immemorial. There will be in-depth discussions on various topics such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Science in Sanskrit, Astrology, and Indian Philosophy to name a few. The participants can benefit immensely from the discussions and get a peek into India's profound and incredible knowledge."

“On Friday, February 24, the World Conference on Contribution of Indian Knowledge & Sanskrit to Humanity" as a part of Vishwa Sanskrit Sammelanam will be inaugurated by A S Rajeev, MD & CEO, Bank of Maharashtra, Pune. It will be presided over by chancellor of Srinivas University Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao and pro-chancellor of Srinivas University Dr A Srinivas Rao will be the guest of honour. MP of Mangaluru and president of Karnataka BJP Nalin Kumar Kateel; MLA of Mangalore city North constituency Dr Bharath Shetty; Sanskrit professor from Rangjang Yeshe Institute, University of Nepal, Prof Kashinath Nyaupane; Sanskrit scholar from University of Warsaw, Poland, Dr Filip Rucinski Shivanand Shastri; director, MDNIY, New Delhi Dr Ishwar V Basavaraddi; vice chancellor, Central Sanskrit University, Tirupathi, Prof Krishnamurthy; vice-chancellor, Kavikulaguru Kalidasa, Sanskrit University, Nagpur Dr Madhusoodan Penna; vice chancellor, Karnataka Sanskrit University, Dr Girishchandra; vice-chancellor, Maharshi Panini Vedic University, Ujjain, Dr Vijaya Kumar; All India organizing secretary, Sanskrit Bharathi, Delhi, Dinesh Kamath; trustee members, Board of Governors, Srinivas University, A Vijayalakshmi R Rao and Prof A Mitra S Rao, Padmini Kumar, professor of Oncology, Bengaluru and Dr Udaya Kumar Maiya and vice chancellor of Srinivas University Dr P S Aithal will be present.

“On Saturday, February 25, summary and plenary session of World Sanskrit Conference 2023 will be presided by chancellor of Srinivas University Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, pro-Chancellor of Srinivas University Dr A Srinivas Rao will be the guest of honour. Director, National Mission for Manuscripts, IGNC, New Delhi, Dr Anirban Dash, Swami Maharaja, Bhakti Raghava, Mangaluru City South Constituency MLA D Vedavyasa Kamathand MLA U T Khader will be present.

“On Sunday, February 26, the valedictory Ceremony of World Sanskrit Conference 2023 will be presided over by chancellor of Srinivas University Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, pro-chancellor of Srinivas University Dr A Srinivas Rao will be the guests of honour. The chief guest will be the vice chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, Prof Dr Srinivasa Varakhedi and senior advocate of Telangana High Court, Hyderabad, Dr Vittal Joshi will be present.

‘Srinivasa Kalyanotsava’ will be held on Sunday, February, 26 The Muhurtham will be at 5.30 pm at Srinivas University Mukka Campus. Swamji from Sri Chitrapura Math, Shri Vidyendra Thirtha Swamiji will be present.

“The stall is set up at the Srinivas University Mukka campus for all three days to provide a representation of our Indian culture through food, antiques, clothing, farmer's products, home-grown small businesses, and regionally accessible goods. To support our culture, folk games will be organised,” he said.
