Muzaffarnagar, June 14 (PTI) The District Consumer Redressal Forum here today imposed a fine of Rs 4,000 on Air India for failing to provide ticket refund amount to a woman.
Pretibha Jain had filed a complaint in the Forum against the national carrier after the company had refused to pay her the refund for an air ticket, which she had cancelled.
The woman had booked two tickets of Air India flight from New Delhi to Chicago on May 11, 2007. But later she cancelled one of them. When she demanded the refund for the same, the company refused citing that she had not submitted requisite documents.
The woman then filed a complaint against the company on January 22, 2001, for 'bad services and negligence'.
The Forum also directed the Air India to pay Rs 4,945, the price of the ticket cancelled, within a month to the woman.
