Kolkata: Mamata Wants to Conduct Audit of 34-year Left Rule

Daijiworld Media Network - Kolkata

Kolkata, Jun 21: Disappointed with the state's state of affairs as far as financial situation is concerned, West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, on Monday June 20, sought an audit report relating to 34-year old rule in the state by the left parties.

She met union finance minister, Pranab Mukherjee, on Monday and appealed to the central government to bail out West Bengal from the monetary crisis it is facing now.

Without giving any figures the state requires for bail out, she told the finance minister that the current financial status of the state is disastrous and horrible.

She accused the Left Front government of receiving Rs 17000 crore last year from the central government, and spending about Rs 8000 crore within the first two months, a few weeks before the announcement of the election.

She was accompanied by West Bengal finance minister, Amit Mitra, who also held discussions with expenditure secretary, Sumit Bose.

Madam Mamtha, you got new era in WB politics and make use of it in developing the state rather than political vendetta.Going for an Audit of 34 years of CPM rule is nothing but wasting energy, resources and valuable time of officials.Instead use this time to people's welfare. If it is a excuse to get more grants from Center than ok,otherwise it might be foolish decision I might say.
