Dubai, Apr 1: “From the past 22 years, I had personally witnessed the growth of Daiji Dubai writers’ forum here in Dubai. More than 40 parish vice associations existed in Dubai. Due to various reasons like recession, job losses, retirement etc, people’s interest towards developing the associations has come down and today hardly 8-10 associations exist. But Daiji Dubai is opposite to my thoughts. This association has kept climbing the ladders of success year after year. Because their motto is very clear. They always trying to preserve our culture and support literature developments, supporting artistes. This year too, they took very huge risk while markets are just in the process of recovery after the corona pandemic by bringing the successful troupe of Asthitva Mangalore and staging their two successful dramas ‘Salgi’ and ‘Jugari’,” Joseph Mathias, managing director Merit Freight Systems Co LLC informed the gathering during the ticket release programme organised by Daiji Dubai Writers Forum for their 23rd anniversary event scheduled on April 30 at Emirates Theatre, Jumeirah, Dubai.
The programme was held at Winny’s Restaurant Karama. Along with Joseph Mathias, Nelson Rodricks – director Daijiworld Media, Lancy D’Souza – managing director Leyton Shipping LLC, Dayan D Souza – founder and first convenor of Daiji Dubai and Nanu Marol Thottam – current convenor of Daiji Dubai were present on the dais.
Nanu Marol in his welcome address thanked Daiji Dubai’s sponsors and well-wishers for their continued support to organisation. Due to them, there was no lockdown to Daiji Dubai’s literature activities and requested their continued patronage for the coming show.
Tickets for the show were released by distinguished guests.
Nelson Rodricks – director Daijiworld Media wished Daiji Dubai all the success and ensured his full support for the success of the programme. Lancy D’Souza – managing director Leyton Shipping LLC in his speech informed that he was part of the Daiji Dubai events from many years and happy to be part of it this year too. He requested all the members present to sell the tickets to their dear and near ones and to make this show a memorable one.
In his vote of thanks, founder president Dayan D’Souza thanked all sponsors and informed that how the guidance of sponsors are helping Daiji Dubai to successfully organise the events every year. “Local artistes exhibited their talents over the years and we all enjoyed their performances. Team Asthitva, Mangalore under the able leadership of Christopher Ninasaam created new waves in Mangaluru and viewers have accepted these type of dramas. Since Daiji Dubai’s motto is also promoting culture and literature, our team has decided to give a platform to this young team to exhibit their talent here in Gulf,” he said and added that they had selected two such dramas considering everybody’s taste for dramas and said that he is sure that both dramas will leave its marks in UAE.
Anil Pinto Kulshekar compered the programme with his witty and crispy dialogues.
As there are limited seats in the auditorium, the audience is requested to reserve seats well in advance to avoid last minute rush. The programme gate opens at 4 pm and programme starts at 4:30 pm.
