Kundapur: Chit fund scam – Gangolli police arrest four from Maharashtra

Kundapur, Apr 2: Gangolli police arrested four persons from Thane in Maharashtra, who escaped after allegedly cheating investors to the tune of crores of rupees in a chit fund business.

The court remanded the accused to police custody.

Accused Padma Hegde, her son Dishant, daughter Suhani and Selvaraj are the ones who have been arrested. They cheated investors to the tune of around Rs 1.7 crore in the chit fund business under Kollur Mookambika Padmakrishna Mahila Kalyana Yojane to the people of Noojadi, Alooru and Hemmady.

A case in this connection was registered in Gangolli police station. Police brought all the four accused for a spot inspection on Saturday. Hundreds of victims of the scam had gathered on the spot.
