Udupi, Jun 5: Pranavi is barely nine years old and is fighting for survival at present. She is suffering from a serious kidney and blood-related disease. A month ago, she fell sick and during her medical examination, her parents came to know that she is suffering from Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome. The disease causes abnormal blood clots (thrombi) to form in the small blood vessels in the kidneys.
The doctors of Kasturba Hospital, Manipal suggested her to 8-10 sections of Plasmapheresis and treatment of immunosuppressant drugs. According to the doctors, she is also required regular dialysis with specialised treatment. The entire therapy costs Rs 5 lac and the parents of Pranavi have already spent more than Rs 2.5 lac.
Pranavi’ parents come from an economically poor background and it is not possible for them to bear all the expenses related to the treatment. Pranavi’s father Prabhakar V has requested Daijiworld readers to help him save his daughter's life.
