Mangaluru, Aug 15: St Agnes Preparatory School celebrated Independence Day with great patriotism and zeal on August 14. The tiny tots showed their patriotism by giving a spectacular performance on the day.
The classrooms were decorated with various national symbols, tricolour ribbons, balloons and decorative notice boards. To pay tribute to the rich culture and heritage and spirit of the nation, the patriotic singing competition was conducted for the children.
The dignitaries of the day were welcomed by the tiny tots with their tiny marching steps for the band beat and spectacular welcome dance.
The cultural programme began with the devotional prayer song by the students of UKG. Children dressed up as national symbols and freedom fighters were truly a sight to watch. All the children were wearing tricoloured hand bands showing their belief towards the country and its well-being. The programme continued with spectacular dances on patriotism and secularism by tiny tots. The performance brought back memories of every one of the freedoms that we enjoy because of the sacrifice of the freedom fighters and soldiers of the nation.
The chief guest, Prashanth Shetty, civil head constable, traffic east police station Kadri congratulated teachers and students for their brilliant and captivating performance. He highlighted that patriotism should be sown in the children at the tender age this young age, which will enable them to demonstrate their love for the country. He motivated parents and children to attend the flag hoisting in the schools or nearby areas every Independence day.
Sr Edna Furtado AC administrator, Sr Shalini AC, the committee member of Yesu Prem Niketan convent and Sr Letitia AC, the coordinator of St Agnes Preparatory School were also present on the occasion.
Sr Letitia AC welcomed the gathering and tiny tots of UKG compered the programme. Teacher Akshitha proposed the vote of thanks.
