Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School celebrates Konkani Manyata Divas

Mangaluru, Aug 24: Konkani Manyata Divas was celebrated at Lourdes Central School on August 19 with great enthusiasm. The programme began with a prayer song sung by the Konkani learning students. Sanjana D’Silva of class VIII highlighted the importance of Manyata Divas. The students sang a melodious Konkani song ‘Konkani Ulloi’.

Principal Fr Robert D’Souza in his message congratulated all the students learning Konkani as a third language. He also encouraged students to take part in various Konkani programmes and make our language rich. Eighty students who are learning Konkani in class VI, VII and VIII were present for the programme.

Principal, vice principal Belita Mascarenhas and Anitha Thomas gave away the prizes to the students who won in the Konkani quiz competition. It was a day of joy for all the Konkani learning students as they participated in the programme. Erica Fernandes and Thea Lobo of class VIII compered the programme. The programme was organized under the guidance of Konkani teacher Ivan Mascarenhas.
