Mangaluru: St Mary’s High School celebrates patroness’ feast, Senior Citizens’ Day

Mangaluru, Aug 24: The school feast of Queenship of Mary, the patroness of St Mary’s High School Falnir and Senior Citizens’ Day along with grandparents of the students was celebrated on August 21 with joy.

This event began by invoking God's blessings on the school and grandparents through a prayer service. A meaningful skit on love of parents was enacted by the students. Significance on the feast was highlighted. Students sang and danced to the old songs which they had heard from their grandparents. Headmistress Sr Nandika AC spoke on the role of grandparents in everybody’s lives and in the family and appreciated their presence for attending the short programme. She also highlighted the qualities of Mother Mary like obedience, love, concern, thoughtfulness, courage etc. which one needs to inculcate in life.

Students were happy to entertain their grandparents and gave them joy. Refreshments were served to all the grandparents after the programme. They were happy to witness the programme and grateful for the appreciation towards them. The entire programme was orchestrated by the students of XC.
