Mangaluru, Aug 26: Young Indians was founded in 2002 as an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Yi emerged as a catalyst for change. It embarked on a mission to provide a platform for young Indians, aged 21 to 45, from all walks of life - entrepreneurs, professionals, and high achievers - to converge, collaborate, and co-create a path towards a developed nation. With over 5000 direct members spread across 57 chapters and an impressive 30,000 student YUVA members in colleges nationwide, Yi is a diverse and inclusive community united by a common goal: to influence India’s future positively. Through the three pillars ‘Youth Leadership’, ‘Nation Building’, and ‘Thought Leadership’”, Yi has launched thousands of impactful projects and activities that tackle some of India’s most pressing challenges.

A jewel in Yi’s crown, the Yi Thalir initiative focuses on the holistic development of school children. Its core vision is to nurture socially intelligent children who not only excel academically but also understand the importance of social responsibility. Yi Thalir introduces a wide array of projects and initiatives to school children, covering topics ranging from child safety and road safety to climate change and health.

Furthermore, Yi Thalir provides a platform for children to explore their talents and interests through projects such as entrepreneurship, innovation, career counselling, and public speaking. The initiative also promotes physical and mental wellness through activities like self-defense, yoga, and mindfulness exercises. In alignment with Thalir’s vision to inspire and motivate millions of school students across India, Yi is committed to entering into MoU’s with a number of schools through which Thalir seeks to empower young minds, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving world.

In a momentous occasion, the Yi (Young Indians) chapter in Mangaluru has taken a significant step towards nurturing the young minds of the region. Yi Mangaluru recently signed its first-ever Thalir Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lourdes Central School, marking the beginning of an inspiring journey towards holistic child development. This momentous event took place in the presence of Reverend Fr. Robert D’Souza, the esteemed principal of Lourdes Central School, alongside Thalir chair Shohan J Shetty and Young Indian members Ashith Hegde, Durgadas Shetty, Aajeeth Kumar and Sharon D’Souza.

This partnership signifies the determination of both organizations to create a nurturing environment where children can grow not only academically but also as socially responsible individuals. Fr Robert D’Souza’s dedication to education and the well-being of students has long been recognized in the region. With his support, this partnership promises to be a guiding light for students as they navigate their educational journey.
